Ep 001: Introducing The Shannon Acheson Show

Hello and welcome to the first episode of the Shannon Acheson Show. If you don’t know me yet, I have previously run a company called Home Made Lovely, which is all about how to decorate and organize your home. I had a podcast that went with that, that was sort of short-lived, but I did all sorts of other things. I have written two traditionally published books, which have sold over 23,000 copies. The first one is also called Home Made Lovely. The second one was called The Clutter Fixed. But on this show, the Shannon Acheson Show and the website, shannonacheson.com, I am all about teaching you and sharing with you how to build a business that you love online that fits your current season, your life.
Whether that’s pivoting from something like blogging, which I’ve done for 15 years, influencer, whatever, whether you’re pivoting from that or from something else online to sort of dabble more in products and services and other online things, or whether you’re just starting out online and you want to build a business that genuinely fits and feels like you. That’s what the Shannon Acheson Show and ShannonAcheson.com are all about. So going forward, this podcast will be interview style. For the most part. I will be interviewing my friends and acquaintances and longtime people that I have known in this whole online business world, lots of whom I’ve met in person and have gotten to go to various events with and spend genuine one-on-one time with them. Some of them are a little newer to me that I’ve met through other people or just connected with online, and they’ll be invited on the show if I feel like they have something to share about how they have grown or pivoted or learned from their online business because those are things that I want to share with you and just really help you to feel confident in creating this online business that you are trying to grow.
So going forward, that will be sort of the focus of the episodes, but also in between each episode, I’m going to sort of do a recap and debrief, I guess you could call it, but more drawing the points out of the episode. So if there was three super awesome key takeaway lessons to learn from an interview, the next episode after that will be a focus on those three key things. And so the interviews range anywhere from half an hour to an hour long, but then those recap episodes will be 10, 15 minutes. Not too long, little bite-size ones. So technically each of the episodes can be a standalone depending on whether you’re listening on a commute while you’re washing the dishes, whatever it is. So there’ll be a bit of variety in the length of those, but I am just so, so excited for this new venture.
Home Made lovely, was kind of my baby for a long, long time. Started it from nothing, loved it. But I have always also loved business and entrepreneurship, and after 15 years in the online space with homemade lovely and then some other stuff. Previous to that, I had an online shop in the early two thousands as well. And so after 15 years plus of that, I just feel like I want to dive into that. I want to share about being an entrepreneur and all the lessons I’ve learned and all the lessons the people that I’m interviewing have learned, and I’m just so, so excited for this. So this is the first episode. It’s just an introductory episode to let you sort of know what the podcast is going to be about going forward.
